Connie Stanger Winnie recently passed away in Mesa, Arizona. She was born in Ogden, Utah on July 29, 1950 to Lavor Wright Stanger Senior and Meriam Jenkins Stanger. She was a loving daughter, sister and mother and was devoted to her family and friends. She had a warm and friendly smile, an engaging personality and an infectious laugh. Connie is survived by her son Jason Winnie and her long-time loving companion and best friend Roger Lantz as well as her mother and four brothers. She had many close and dear friends from the Mesa area. Connie graduated from Ogden High School and then from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. While living in Petaluma, California she earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from Sonoma State University. After graduating with her nursing degree, Connie moved to Southern California where she was an operating room nurse and later served on an open heart surgery team in Phoenix, Arizona. She managed a hospice in Silver City, New Mexico and owned and operated an assisted living center in Mesa. She retired from Medtronics and was most proud of having established a wellness program at her facility in Mesa. She was a lifelong learner with an inquiring mind and was exceptionally well read. Connie visited every major continent and too many countries to count but she still took joy in the simple things of life. She was a citizen of the world and lived life to it's fullest. A celebration of her life will be held on January 9th, 2016 in Mesa, Arizona at The Mesa Convention Center located at 263 N Center street Mesa, Arizona 85201 from 10:00 AM until Noon.
