Constance Elizabeth Collinson Obituary
Collinson, Constance Elizabeth
99, June 4, 1916 - April 4,1916 passed peacefully in her sleep in her home in Scottsdale, surrounded by family and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Ida Elizabeth Hale Hambly and her husband, Gordon Collinson, who served in the Air Force in both world wars. Married in 1946 and devoted to one another, they pursued their careers and enjoyed many travels in North America and Europe. Sadly, she never knew her father, Conrad George Carey, who died in World War 1 when she was only a few months old. Born in Belleville, Ontario, Connie worked for the RCMP. She graduated from Business College in Toronto. After she became an American citizen, she was an executive assistant for many years during the time that she and her husband lived in Los Altos and Pebble Beach, California. Connie's many accomplishments include writing articles and a mystery novel. An avid reader, she was very knowledgeable about the world and able to converse on a wide variety of topics. Her creativity is also reflected in her art, the many beautiful paintings she did; she was still painting into her final year at 99. Connie was an advocate for the environment, natural supplements and organic foods. Connie loved all animals, especially dogs. Her poodle Bijou is mourning her loss. Special thanks to the Hospice of the Valley for their excellent care of Connie and to her dedicated caregivers. It is a special tribute to her that many dear friends surrounded her in her final days. Family and friends will miss her greatly. There will be a visitation at Messenger Pinnacle
