Dan Alexander Obituary

Alexander, Dan
75, of Scottsdale passed away on August 9, 2010. He was born October 9, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas, graduated from Texas Christian University, and lived in Fort Worth and Dallas until 2000, when he, his wife Jody and their two sons relocated to Scottsdale. Dan was a talented and admired jingle singer and voice talent. His career in the jingle business began in 1958 as a soloist and group singer for PAMS, and he went on to work as a freelance studio singer for TM/Century, JAM and others until 2000. Among his voiceover work from 1999 through his retirement in 2005, Dan's rich baritone was the voice of Big Tex at the Texas State Fair in 1999 and 2000. Dan is survived by his wife Jody and his four children: Shey Campbell of San Antonio, Lane Alexander of Chicago, and Hunter and Drew Alexander of Scottsdale. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Tess Rodgers of Denton, Texas, and his brother, Don Alexander of Granbury, Texas. Private services will be held in San Antonio and Dallas.

Dan was a great friend and mentor. He and Jody helped me get into the voiceover industry in Dallas. I will always remember first when I was a child
listening to his singing and sonovox jingles on radio.
