Born on June 12, 1947, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, David passed away on March 3, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He succumbed after a long and valiant fight to cancer. David's father, a Lutheran minister, and mother, a high school teacher, provided David and his sister, Ellen, a happy childhood, always stressing the importance of a good education. In that capacity he worked for six CEOs, providing thoughtful and ethical guidance throughout his career. After his retirement from Avnet, David started his own consulting business, Black Belt Compliance. His stellar reputation for sound legal advice, and his calm demeanor, made David a much sought after advisor in C-suites and as a mentor for general counsels nationwide. David earned his Project Management and Change Management Certifications, and in 2008 was recognized by Arizona Business Magazine as one of Arizona's most influential lawyers. David was passionate about the professions of law and business, and he showed that dedication in all aspects of his professional life. More importantly, he loved and was loved by his family.
