Dean Arthur Helm passed away in the comfort of his home on June 2, 2016 after a brave battle against Cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Beth, his mother Elma, brother Neal (Delois), nephew Jesse, grandniece Brooke, and stepson's Neal Eggen and Nicholas (Laura) Eggen. Dean was born Feb. 9, 1951 in Oregon City, Oregon. The family moved to South Dakota for most of his childhood, and then to Lodi, California where he attended High School. His love for Arizona began when he relocated in 1969 to attend Devry University. At Devry, Dean achieved his degree in Electronic Engineering. After graduation, he was hired by Hewlett-Packard calculator division in San Jose, California. In 1978, Dean returned to Arizona and purchased Southwest Four Wheel Drive, a retail/wholesale Auto & Motorcycle parts and accessory store. Dean and his wife grew the business until his illness in 2015. Dean was extremely talented and excelled in all aspects of his life. His brilliant mind and wonderful sense of humor, will be missed by this world and everyone he shared them with. Dean and his wife enjoyed many years of work, and play. They loved riding their ATV's in the sand dunes and on trails, Scuba Diving, fishing, golf, racquetball, hunting, camping, snow skiing, traveling, adventure, spending time with family and friends. His family extends his deepest gratitude to all of his doctors, medical care givers, as well as all his wonderful friends and family that made up a strong and wonderful support system during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to at hov.org. There will be no services, but a celebration of life party will be planned for a later date.
