Dean Orville Wieters Obituary
Wieters, Dean Orville
Dean Orville Wieters, 82, went to his heavenly home on August 10, 2016. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God provided him with peace throughout his life. Dean was born to the late Albert Wieters and Elsie Boda-Wieters, of Barnes, Kansas. As a farmer at heart, Dean's life was spent working hard to support his family through many business ventures, including a thriving real estate business with his loving spouse of 39 years, Wanda Kay Thurman-Wieters. Dean's love of farming never left him, as he restored tractors that he drove in local tractor pulls. After he retired, you would find Dean and Wanda in their RV 'on the road again'. Dean was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend, Wanda, in 1977. Dean and Wanda combined their families and started their life journey. He was a kind, generous and wise man, and always had time to help another person. He will be dearly missed by all of the lives he touched, as they celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator. Dean is survived by his wife, Wanda; his children Ray, Monte, Steve, and Cara and his step-children Conel and Cydnee Thurman. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife-Marilyn Shaffer, and two siblings. His children and step-children blessed him with 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held for Dean at the Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary at 200 W. Beardsley, Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday, the 18th of August from 5-8 p.m. The celebration of life funeral ceremony will be held at Pure Heart Church at 14240 N. 43rd Ave, Glendale, Arizona on Friday, August 19th from 9-10 a.m. with a graveside service following at the Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary. After the services, a reception will be held at Dean and Wanda's residence in Glendale, Arizona. Pastor Dan Steffen, Senior Pastor at Pure Heart Church, will officiate the service. The family gratefully declines flowers; however, donations can be sent to Pure Heart Church in Dean Wieters' name. Prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted at http://dean.wieters.muchloved.com.
