Poston, Deanna "Dee"
77, of Surprise passed away on October 1, 2015. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died following a lengthy battle with lymphoma. She was born October 5, 1937 in Minden, Louisiana, to Robert and Verna Dalton. Deanna loved to travel, so life as a career military wife was right up her alley. She and Chuck, her husband of 59 years, made numerous lifelong friends during their assignments to multiple bases stateside, as well as on their overseas tours in Germany and Taiwan. After retirement, they traveled extensively on cruises and adventures around the globe. Deanna was an exemplary employee at Honeywell and in the library at GCC. She devoted over ten years of service as a volunteer in the Emergency Room at Boswell Hospital in Sun City. Her family will fondly remember her quick wit, passion for playing cards and Scrabble, and her commitment to Jesus Christ. Deanna is survived by husband, Charles Poston; Daughter and Son-In-Law, Debra and Andrew Baker of Fruitland, Utah; Daughter and Son-In-Law, Sandra and Mark Emery of Phoenix; and Son and Daughter-In-Law Daniel and Rebekah Poston of Phoenix. Grandchildren Jessica Baker Miller, Jason Baker, Kyle Poston, Sydney Poston and four great-grandchildren were a special joy in her life. Services will be held at the Sun City Church of the Nazarene on October 17, 2015, at 10am. In lieu of flowers, Deanna requested that donations be sent to: Rev. George and Donna Rench Scholarship Fund, c/o Nazarene Theological Seminary, 1700 E. Meyer Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64131.
