Born 6-22-31, passed away 9-8-15. Dolores was a descendant of one of the first families to settle in the Tempe area in 1870. She was the fourth child born to Roberto Tobin and Teles Sotelo Granillo. She grew up in a barrio south of the Tempe Butte known as "Micky Mouse". Dolores attended 8th Street School, which was segregated, and attended only by children of Mexican descent. She excelled in sports, and played softball into adulthood. Dolores married Alfredo "Chalio" Dominguez in 1949. After raising her family, she worked for the Arizona House of Representatives for many years. Dolores enjoyed gardening, her dog Sweetpea, embroidery, and was was a fan of the Suns and the Diamondbacks. However, her happiest moments were those that she spent with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, her beloved sister Sally Mendez, her brothers Manuel and Joe Tobin, and brothers Pedro and George Escalante. She is survived by her children Patricia Acuna, Bobby Dominguez, Peggy Villarreal, Teresa Dominguez, and Kathy Dominguez and her brother Benny Escalante She was "Mammo" to 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, with three more on the way. She also shared her love with the grandchildren who came to her through the marriages of her children. Visitation will be on Thursday 9-17 at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 n 59th Ave, from 6-8pm, with Rosary at 7. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Friday 9-18 at 10 am, 3140 N 51st Ave. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
