Pittman, Dolores Martha
97, of Glendale, AZ passed away on August 28, 2015. Born January 13, 1918 in Chicago, IL Dolores (Lorry) lived in the Windy City through her graduation from Roosevelt High School. She was married to Hardy Pittman, who passed away on October 9, 2011, for 72 years. The couple met at Riverview Park where her family ran an arcade game. Over the years she was employed by Illinois Bell, The Associated Press and several department stores. Dolores was a natural comedian and entertainer, who was loved by everyone who met her. Her path as a beauty queen began when she was named "Miss Logan Square" of 1936. Much later she was the first runner up in the Ms. Senior Arizona Competition of 1999 for dancing the Polka in traditional Polish folk attire. As a member of the Cameo Club of Glendale, she regularly entertained at local senior centers. Dolores is survived by her three children, Linda (Larry) Burgener of Glendale, Danny (Anita) Pittman of Orange, CA, and David Pittman of Glendale; also surviving are three grandchildren, Scott (Joci) Burgener of Mesa, Amy (Elmer) Connin of Glendale and Bernadette Pittman of CA and two great grandsons, Tristan and Stefan Burgener, and beloved Siberian Husky, Yuri. Private services will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the in her name.
