Dolores Young Obituary
Young, Dolores "Dolli"
Dolores Anne Axmacher Young passed away November 12, 2015 in Peoria, AZ. She was born in Johnstown, PA on June 18, 1931, her parents' wedding anniversary. She was known as Dolli to her friends and family and affectionately called "D" by her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth William and Ethel Axmacher; her brother Jim Axmacher; her husband Chick Young; her son Mark Richard Young; and her granddaughter Bethany Noelle Worden. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ginger and Wayne Worden; her grandsons and their wives, Edmund and Holli Worden and Christopher and Erin Worden; and a number of nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was ecstatic to know that a great granddaughter is due to Chris and Erin next March. Dolli was a homemaker who truly enjoyed making a house a home. She was a devoted daughter, wife, and mother. She and Chick retired to Arizona in 1977 where she found great beauty in the desert. She enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader. She also loved to write poetry. She embraced new things, particularly technology, and had fun with email, texting, and facebook. But more than anything, Dolli was a woman of great faith who followed Jesus with her whole heart. While she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and led many bible studies and women's retreats, her greatest calling was as a dedicated prayer warrior. Dolli was humble, generous, and compassionate and she touched more lives than we may ever know. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Dove of the Desert United Methodist Church, 7201 W. Beardsley Road, Glendale, AZ 85308. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.heritagefuneralchapels.com
