Age 81 of Phoenix, passed away on February 27, 2011. Born on June 28, 1929 and raised on Park Avenue in New York City, he attended the prestigious Horace Mann School for Boys and graduated from Amherst College in Massachusetts. He carved a niche on Wall Street first at Lehmann Brothers and then with his own firm and his own seat on the New York Stock Exchange until leaving the rat race of NYC for the Arizona desert. Next stop were years in California as a head hunter before retiring in Phoenix for his last chapter. He is survived by four children, Garrison Singer, Gayle and Mike Ahearn, Gwen Singer and Gregg and Apple Singer; five grandchildren, Matt and Joanna Ahearn, Melissa Ahearn, Rick Hughes, Alex Hahn and Gavin Singer; and two sisters Rita Philipson and Dulcy Singer. Services are private, burial in New York. Papa Don will be greatly missed by those who loved him. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
