Klamm, Donald Oliver
81, a resident of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on September 23, 2016. In his youth, Don grew up in Kansas City Missouri and graduated from Southeast High School in Kansas City. He married Joyce Schaffer in 1953 and had three children. The family moved from Kansas City, Missouri to Overland Park, Kansas in 1960. Don worked in the printing industry for many years, and later worked in outside sales for printing related equipment. He and Joyce later moved to Saint Louis, Missouri for a while, then moved to Atlanta, Georgia. They retired to Phoenix, Arizona in the 1990's. Don was preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Dora Klamm, son Donald Keith Klamm and daughter Diana Lynn Wasser. Don enjoyed automobile and boat racing in his youth, and while in high school worked at a boat dealership. He enjoyed working on the cars he raced and had a love of tools. Don also liked to fish and go camping, and always took the family on wonderful family vacations. He was a loving husband and father. He had a sense of humor enjoyed by all. Don liked gardening and landscaping and created a beautiful yard at their Phoenix home. Don also served his country in the National Guard Reserve in Kansas City. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Klamm of Phoenix Arizona, his sister Pat Bollingbroke of Independence Missouri, his daughter Debra Price and son-in-law Stan Price, son-in-law Bob Wasser of Lenexa Kansas and Don's grandchildren Cassie Wasser, Travis Wasser and wife Erin Wasser also of Lenexa Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at the Mausoleum of Phoenix Memorial Park Cemetery located at 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ on Saturday October 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM The Family Requests That Memorial Contributions Be Made To The Local Humane Society.
