Larson, Dorothy L. (Jacobs)
passed away peacefully on Feb. 10, 2013 at age 88 in Fountain Hills, Arizona. She was born Dorothy Lorraine Jacobs on May 9, 1924 in Wadena, Minnesota to Edward and Amy Jacobs. Dorothy married Lt. Commander Norman K. Larson on May 20, 1944 and remained happily married to him for the next 68 years of her life. She is survived by husband Norman, her sister Mary Elizabeth Jensen, her two sons Daniel E. Larson (Decatur, IL) and John W. Larson (Minneapolis, MN), her daughter-in law, Cindi (Koniuszy) Larson, and her grandchildren Erika Todd (Michael), Brock Larson and Evan Larson. Dorothy graduated from Southwest High School in Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota. She lived her first 44 years in Minnesota (Wadena, Minneapolis, Burnsville), 22 years in Monticello, Illinois and her last 22 years in Rio Verde & Fountain Hills, Arizona. Dorothy was a housewife, worked as an executive secretary at Minnegasco and the Monticello United Methodist Church. She was an active community leader and volunteer, a member of PEO and the Community Church of the Verdes. Memorial Services will be held at 12:30 PM, Sunday, Feb 17, at the Community Church of the Verdes, 25603 N. Danny Lane, Rio Verde, AZ 85263. Refreshments and Light Lunch will follow the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Community Church of the Verdes. Condolences can be sent to: Mr. Norman Larson, Fountain View Village Apt. C137, 16455 E.
