Haga, Earl Neal
88, was born in Tucson, AZ, March 16, 1928. Earl attended Amphitheater schools K-12 in Tucson, then joined the Navy in 1945 and was stationed in the South Pacific. Earl married Marilyn Blair on September 5, 1952, in Long Beach, CA. They were married until Marilyn's death in 2011. Earl obtained a Master's degree in entomology from the U of A in 1954. In 1963 Earl founded Haga's BCD Enterprises; from what had started as a hobby grew to become the largest non-poultry bird farm west of the MS River. He bred parakeets and kept over 50,000 of these beautiful birds, as well as cockatiels and lovebirds. Earl is survived by his three children Richard Haga, Linda Tatum and Gail (Dale) Olsen, grandchildren Matthew (Leah) Tatum, Ricky Haga, and Rachel Olsen, and two great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Class Act Downing Assisted Living and Hospice of the Valley for their excellent and gentle care of our Papa. Earl passed away on May 22, 2016. A private memorial has been held. Contributions can be made in Earl's honor to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
