Boynton, Earlene (Sandy) Sanders Yates
passed from this life on June 22, 2013. She is not gone, only free of her physical bonds and beyond our sight. She was born Dec. 7, 1927 grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois and married the late David J. Yates Jr. They raised their family in Arlington Heights, Illinois and Carmel, IN. She made the desert her home in 1978 settling in Paradise Valley with F. David Boynton III from whom she was widowed in 1990, also predeceased by her sister Gwendolyn Cox. An ardent supporter of the Phoenix Symphony, an Opera Dame, and Docent at the Phoenix Museum of Art she was a lover of the arts. She volunteered at Hospice of the Valley's White Dove Gift Shop, Our Lady of Perpetual Help and The Old Adobe Mission. Sandy's quick wit, sense of humor and warmth made her a friend to many and entertaining companion. She was a renowned lover of animals. She is survived by her dedicated and loving companion Bob Siedare, four children; Bobby (Terry) Ruben (husband John), Leslie Yates (partner Rich Hall), Lisa Knudson (husband Wayne) all local, David Yates of Lawrence, KS, four grandchildren; Darcy Ruben of Scottsdale, Bart Yates (partner Christine Joo) of New York City, Alexandra Krupski (husband Dave) of Miami, FL, and Rikki Ruben (partner Otto Hanson) of Denver, CO, great grandchild, Zoey Krupski, sister Bettyanne Reeve (husband Roger), two nephews Randy and Michael of the SF Bay Area; their children, Erin, Kyle and Bryan, dedicated friends Peter and Sara Morgan of Paradise Valley and grand-dog Suzette-Marie. A Rosary (9:30AM) with Funeral Mass to follow (10AM) will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3801 N. Miller Rd, Scottsdale on Mon 22 July. All are welcomed to a reception immediately following at the church and an open house at the home, 7820 E. Highland Ave, Scottsdale into the evening. Mass has been celebrated for her by Msgr. Tom Hever, in Ireland (her neighbor). In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to, "Sandy Boynton Pet Memorial Fund" to defray cost when clients without resources need care at Sandy's vet - Saguaro Veterinary Clinic.
