Van, Ed
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at age 84, on August 18, 2015, while vacationing in California. Ed loved his family and friends and was a good man, a mentor to all. His optimism was legendary and he will be deeply missed. Ed was born in Wisconsin and moved with his family to Arizona in 1967, they lived in Scottsdale and Mesa. He worked in packaging sales and was the owner of pallet companies. He was active in Boy Scouting, King of Glory Lutheran Church, and Leisure World. He traveled the world with his wife, Iris, played golf often and was an avid walker. Ed and Iris spent many summers in the San Diego area, and the last morning of his life he walked the beach. Ed was the devoted husband to Iris, and they were looking forward to their 60th anniversary. He also is survived by his son Jay Van, daughter and son-in-law Jean and Bob Bogaard, grandchildren Shelby Vercelli and husband Brian, Kelly Bogaard and Kyle Van, great grandson Brice Vercelli, sister Nancy Yost, his loving extended family and many wonderful friends. Funeral will be private. However a celebration of Ed's life for all family and friends will be held in November. Donations in
memory of Ed Van may be made to the Ruud Memorial Fund at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 2085 E Southern Ave, Tempe, AZ 85282. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
