Edgar Lincoln Peters, age 72, of Phoenix, AZ, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather went to rest on Monday, March 7, 2016. He was born on March 3, 1944 on the Colorado River in Needles, California to Ray and Theresa Peters. He graduated from Needles High School in 1962. In 1966, Edgar earned a B.S. Ed. degree in Industrial Arts from Northern Arizona University, then a M.S. degree in Industrial Arts from San Diego State University. His 1st teaching assignment was nearby at Collier Jr. High in 1966 then moved on in 1969 to Mohave High School, at Bullhead City, Az., where he established the 1st Industrial Arts department, which he headed until 1976. Ed spent over 40 years in the field of education, starting as a Wood Shop instructor in San Diego and retiring as a professor of Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology at Central Arizona College in Coolidge, Az., as well as chairing the Technology division there for several years. He experienced many changes during his career. His first lessons to students were constructing sliding book shelves and his last involved robotics classes, training people to make computer chips for Intel. The latter part of his tenure at CAC took him around the world, from Japan to Spain, to bring the latest technologies to his students. Additionally, he worked as a Special Project Engineer for a young window company during the late 1970's, Jeld-Wen, where he headed up the installation of a fiber board plant in Flagstaff, Arizona. He touched many people of all ages with his talents as a master artisan and skill as a teacher. Ed loved the water, having been raised on the Colorado. His passion was racing boats as a young man and restoring vintage race engines in retirement. He spent his last months at his summer home on Washington's Puget Sound, with friends and family, gazing at the Olympic Mountains and surrounded by the grandeur of the Pacific Northwest, with kayaks on the dock at the ready. Edgar is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Peggie, son Lincoln, daughter Rachel Peters Lyon (Adam), daughter Katie Peters Rieser (Nik) and granddaughter Bella Rinaldi. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Robert Peters. He is sorely missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the .
