Edith Vivian Alfonso Saber, 98, passed away on October 11, 2016. Edith was born on April 15, 1918 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan where she met and married her beloved late husband, Bernard (Bernie) Saber in 1943. They called Chicago home and raised their family in Lincolnwood, IL. Edith assisted Bernie throughout his musical career which progressed from jobbing to orchestra leader to creative jingle writing and producing. Her pioneering spirit led them out West to retire in Scottsdale and Pinewood, AZ in the 1970's. Edith spent her later years in Henderson, NV and Phoenix, AZ. Edith was preceded in death also by her sisters Mary (Henry) Antonelli and Anne Alfonso, brother Peter Alfonso, sisters-in-law Ruth Saber and Elenore Davis, brothers-in-law Albert Saber and Les Davis. Edith is survived by her daughter Barbara (Bruce Kaplan), sons Kenneth (Jodi) and Glenn, three grandchildren, one great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on November 12th at Paradise Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to , 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
