Edmund Park Norwood Obituary
Norwood, E. Park
passed away peacefully on Sept. 23, 2016, one week after his 91st birthday. He is survived by his 3 children, Sharon Goldsworthy, Cindy Gockel, John Norwood and his granddaughter, Sara Goldsworthy, as well as his brother, Charles (Marnie) Norwood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Coffman Norwood. He was born in Greenville, SC on September 16, 1925, the 3rd of 4 children. Park joined the Army Air Corps in 1944 because he wanted to learn to fly. Unfortunately, because he wore glasses, he was unable to qualify. Instead he worked in the aerospace industry as a lab technician, a job he much enjoyed. He retired after 36 years, but never lost his love of flying. Park moved to the Citadel Retirement Community in 2011, where he made many friends. He was much loved and will be missed. Arrangements by Legacy Funeral Home-Mesa & Allen Cremation Center.
