The world lost an incredibly kind, generous, and LOVEABLE soul early the morning of February 17, 2016 when Edward Lee Western passed away. Ed was born February 5, 1933 to Ruby Sabin and Preston Arthur Western in Benson Arizona. He was the fourth of seven children. Ed enlisted in the Navy in 1950 and served for almost 4 years during the Korean conflict. He continued to serve in the Naval Reserve until his retirement. He started working for the telephone company in 1955 and retired in 1990. He married Judith Haskell in 1966 and his son Eddie was born in 1968. Judy passed away in 1979. Ed married Gloria Tew on February 11, 1983. He instantly became a stepfather to two daughters, and grandfather to 6. He quickly adapted and became very involved with all of his new grandchildren. After his retirement, he and Gloria went on an LDS mission to South Dakota. Ed and Gloria loved to travel. She passed away in 2004. On November 8, 2005 Ed married Joyce Crismon and instantly added 5 more children and 5 more grandchildren. Ed and Joyce enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time together. Ed's family continued to grow through the years and he was loved by all of his posterity. Ed is survived by his wife, Joyce, a sister Barbara (Kenneth) Love, brother Larry (Fran), and brother Mickey (Linda). He is also survived by his son Eddie, stepchildren Laurette (Michael) Goss, Melanie (Kim) Sherman, Bryce (Karen) Waite, Julie Ann (Drew) Tryon, James (Heather) Waite, Heather Waite, and Benson Waite, 20 grandchildren, and 20 3/4 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday, February 22, at the LDS Church at 4170 S. Ranch House Pkwy. Gilbert, AZ 85297. Viewing at 9:00 am; Service at 10:00 am.
