Garner, Frances Laverne
87, of Sun City West, Arizona passed away on December 14, 2015. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 20, 1927 to Edward J. and Margaret Murray. In 1946 she graduated from Southeastern High School in Detroit, Michigan, and later attended Wayne University and the Detroit Business Institute. Frances worked for Eaton in Detroit, Michigan, and after moving to Los Angeles, California in 1952, Garrett AiResearch and then Western Airlines. On June 27, 1953 she married Phillip Barton Garner in Westchester, Los Angeles, California. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1955. In addition to being a housewife, in the late 1960s and early 1970s she worked as an administrative assistant for several companies, including the Carefree Inn and Development Corporation. After her husband's retirement, she performed volunteer work for the Sun City West Library. She shared many memorable trips around the world with her husband Phillip. Frances was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church of Sun City West. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 60 years, Phillip. Frances is survived by her sons Robert of San Jose, California and Ronald of Scottsdale, Arizona, and grandson Brendon. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife and mother.
