Francis C. "Frank" Mastromauro Obituary
Mastromauro, Francis C. "Frank"
80, Chandler, AZ passed away on February 20th, 2016. He was born in Milan, Italy and came to the United States at the age of two with his father, Francesco Mastromauro and mother, Lydia Serena. He was predeceased by his father, mother, sister Mary, daughter Donna and his dogs Duke and Caesar. Frank was in the US Navy during the Korean War and stationed in Italy as in interpreter. He came back to the States and lived in Long Island, NY where he worked for Sunshine Fuel and Coal. This led to him becoming an owner operator, until he met his future second wife and the love of his life, Mickey. They moved to Scottsdale, AZ in August of 1979 with both of their families and married a short time later. During that time, Frank established his own landscaping company, Sunland Property Maintenance, which was once one of the largest in the valley. In his free time, Frank enjoyed taking his family and friends boating at Saguaro Lake and being President of the Sharper Image Truck Club, where he showcased his personal truck that won him many trophies over the years. But, what mattered most to Frank, was being called husband, dad, and "Pops." Frank was "old school", he ruled with an iron fist. His favorite motto was, "A place for everything and everything in its place." He was nicknamed "Mr. Clean" because he was obsessed with cleanliness. Another one of his obsessions was Christmas. It was his all-time favorite Holiday. He would decorate our home with thousands of lights and decorations and would even have Christmas music playing outside! This amazing display for Christmas, made our house a popular stop for Holiday tour buses, strangers and neighbors alike. On Thanksgiving night Frank would turn on all the Christmas lights and we would all stand outside and once again be amazed at his festive talents . Football was another one of his passions. He coached Pop Warner football for 17 years and never missed a NFL game on TV. Frank also loved crime shows and action movies. He was very likeable and made many friends throughout the years. He will be deeply missed. Frank is survived by best friend and partner Mickey of 37 years (Chandler, AZ). His children: Susan (Joseph) Valdini of Farmingdale, NY, Michael "Mike" Mastro of Scottsdale, AZ, Patsy (Kirk) Hanaway of Avondale, AZ, Marcy (Jeff) Baldwin of Tempe, AZ, Frankie (Kelly) Mastromauro of Los Angeles, CA, and Liz (Steve) Lisanti of Chandler, AZ. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Robert, Joseph, Michael, Kimberly and Nicholas Valdini, Ashley, Austin, Faith, Jack, Charlie, Queenie, and Dustin Mastro, Priscilla and Zachary Hankins, Christopher "Pookster" and Edwin "Alex" Baldwin, Mazden Mastromauro, Ella Lisanti and his only great grandchild Lucy Mastro. Frank is also survived by his dog and ever faithful companion Darby. His family would like to thank the medical staff and doctors at Banner Desert Hospital who cared for him and especially the staff at Lund Home Hospice of the Valley. A celebration of Frank's life will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10am at the Wyman Cremation and Burial Chapel located at 115 S. Country Club Dr Mesa, AZ 85210. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that any contributions be made at any Wells Fargo Bank in the Memorial Fund of Frank Mastromauro account #9961925360. Frank will be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts.
