Bowman, Frank
Frank Bowman was born March 2, 1925 in Cleo Springs, Oklahoma, son of Frank and Florence Bowman. Frank went home to be with the Lord August 28, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathryn, his daughters, Judy Caldwell, Susan Kirchoff, Kate Johnson and his son Jerry Bowman. He had 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Frank graduated from Elk City High School in 1942 and immediately enlisted in the US Navy. He was assigned as armed guard on a merchant ship and crossed the North Atlantic twice in convoys taking supplies to England and Russia. He received an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1945. He attended Oklahoma State University where he pledged the Sigma Chi Fraternity and later became a Lifelong Sig. He graduated with a BA in Accounting. He went to work for Ernst and Ernst and earned his CPA Certificate. He was past President of the local chapter of National Association of Accountants as well as a National Director of that organization. Frank and Kathryn moved to Arizona in 1960. Frank retired from ADOT in 1990. He was Director of Administration. He and Kathryn moved to Sun City where he became active in his church and enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling. His big smile will be missed by his family and friends as will his love for a good party. We will celebrate his life on Monday, September 14, 2015, with a memorial service at Lakeview United Methodist Church in Sun City at 11:00 am, reception to follow.
