Hatch, Gary Lynn
beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born September 18, 1937 in Duncan, Arizona to Lynn McKnight (Mack) and Anna Merrell Hatch. He graduated from Virden, New Mexico High School and later attended BYU and University of New Mexico. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Gary married his sweetheart, Maria Ines Hernandez on July 8, 1966 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. They are the parents of three daughters. His family was his first priority and they will cherish the memories they made together. Gary was a business owner and ran a custom drapery workroom. He loved to read, spend time with his family and friends, and study economics and government. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gary served in many capacities including Bishop, Executive Secretary, and Sunday School Teacher. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend, and was an example to many. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria; daughters, Anna (John) Standage, Lehi; Laura (Hugh) Black, Spanish Fork; and Cynthia (Jamie) White, Spanish Fork. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren who adored him, as well as, a brother, Vern Hatch, Virden, NM; and a sister, Sherrie Taylor, Las Cruces, NM. He was preceded in death by his father, Mack, and mother, Anna; and sister, Sandra Peay. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spanish Fork East Stake Center, 1150 East 1240 South, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may visit at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will follow at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
