Massung, George
George Massung, 83, passed away on September 10, 2015. He was born near Pittsburgh, PA, and was an Army Sergeant in the Korean Conflict, building bridges. George co-owned a family poultry business for 35 years in Pennsylvania. In 1990, he retired to Arizona. He could not sit still very long, and began a new career as a foreman at RKS Plumbing. When Arizona changed the law requiring licenses, he obtained his plumbing journeyman license at the age of 72. He also used his building skills volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. He was an exceptional handyman and could build anything. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and he
loved spending time with family. He enjoyed the outdoors, and hiked the Grand Canyon numerous times. Surviving George is his wife of 60 years, Josephine, 3 children, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a large extended family. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Monday, September 14 at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Road. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 15 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5614 West Orangewood Ave., Glendale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Habitat for Humanity or would be appreciated.
