Finkle, Gerald C.
Gerald C. Finkle, 86, passed away June 19, at his home in Mesa, AZ He was born October 17, 1926 in Polo, IL to Robert and Edna (Miller) Finkle. He married Eleanor (Wilde) Finkle on February 22, 1951. A proud veteran of the navy, "Judd" served aboard the U.S.S. Boston in WWII and the Korean War. He worked as a carpenter, cabinet maker, and home remodeler for over sixty years. He is survived by his wife Eleanor and three of their four children Sheryl Finkle of Aurora, IL; Gerald "Gus" Finkle of Tempe, AZ; and Edward Finkle of Mesa, AZ; three grandsons Michael, Keith, and Kenneth; and two great grandsons Jackson and Ryder. He was preceded in death by his son Steven; his parents Robert and Edna; two brothers David and Bob; and three sisters Maxine Engel, Dorothy Kluck, and Marjory Bowma. The Finkle family wishes to extend their special thanks to Dr. Michael Long for offering Jerry quality time despite an extended illness and to Dr. Allen Kent, Jamie, Linda, Bobbie, and Stephanie of East Valley Hospice who brought comfort and peace in his final days. Arrangements for cremation were made by A Legacy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jerry's memory to the American Legion Post 26 by calling (480)964-8792 or to East Valley Hospice at 1311 W. Chandler Blvd., Suite 200, Chandler, Az. 85224. A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post 26, 505 W. 2nd Ave., Mesa, AZ, on Thursday, June 27, at 4 p.m.
