Graciela Maria (Marcos) Wilkof passed away Sunday, October 11, at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born to the late Osvaldo and Olga Marcos in Havana, Cuba. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio with her family when she was 11 years old. Grace studied Spanish at Miami University where she received her Bachelor of Arts. She continued to study Spanish at the University of Cincinnati where she earned her Masters of Arts. It was at Miami University where she met her husband, Robert Wilkof. After marrying Robert, she moved to Canton, Ohio where she began her career in education. Grace taught Spanish at Hoover High School for more than 20 years. Grace was a passionate cook and world traveler. She will be remembered for her legendary Cuban food that was spoken of by friends and family in words reserved only for three star Michelin restaurants. Grace's excitement for food extended to her travels abroad. Accompanied by her husband, Robert, her sons and friends, Grace had a true love for exploration. Together, Grace and her family created memories to last two lifetimes. Grace's passion for food and travel was surpassed only by her love and devotion to her family. She is survived by her husband, Robert, her two sons Brad (Sara) and Reid; her grandson, Asher; her sisters Tensy (Stuart), Bertha (Martin); and nieces and nephews Marissa (Charles), Jessica, Brent, Ariel, Michael, Isadora, Perrie, Rebecca, and Sophia. A memorial service will be held at Sinai Mortuary of Arizona on Sunday, October 18 at 10:30am. Sinai Mortuary is located at 4538 North 16th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
