Andersen, Horace LeRoy
85, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on April 7, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Anna; his children Cathy (Russ), Connie, John (Camille), Mary Carol (Michael), Patsy (Paul), David (Alanah), and Debra (Ben), 32 grandchildren and 90 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Don, Gary and Lamar and sisters Doris, Carolyn, LaRue, Leona, Pearl and Zella. He served in the US Navy in the South Pacific during World War II and Korea. Horace was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as High Priest Group Leader, Stake and Ward Mission Leader, Finance Clerk, Executive Secretary, Sunday school teacher and his favorite calling as door greeter. He served four full-time missions for the Church: Hawaii, Utah areas, Nauvoo Illinois and California Roseville. He was a Mesa Arizona Temple Ordinance Worker. He supervised and worked on 12 Church structures which included the Hawaiian temple, The Polynesian Cultural Center, 3 stake centers and several ward meeting houses. He was Construction Supervisor for Nauvoo Historical Restoration where he was instrumental in restoring the Wilford Woodruff home. He was the retired owner of Landmark Construction Company. Visitation will be Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 9:00-10:30 am with the funeral services to follow at 11:00 am at the LDS Church at 11650 N 35th Ave in Phoenix. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Monday April 15, 2013 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to .
