Diaz, Irene Frances
70, of Glendale, AZ passed away on February 13, 2013. Born in Glendale, Arizona on November 21, 1942 to Frank Vasquez and Ruth Ortega. Irene was an exceptional student and a Pom Pom Cheerleader; she graduated from Glendale High School in May 1960 and married her high school sweetheart Paul Diaz on October 14, 1960. Irene focused on family and had 3 children, Cynthia Anne, Christine Paula (Tina) and Paul Anthony. After raising and nurturing her children, she then re-entered the workforce and became a cook at Harold W. Smith School in Glendale, AZ for 10 years before retiring. Irene loved family. She looked forward to spending time with her family during holidays and special events. Her favorite time of the year was Thanksgiving and Christmas. Irene always put her family first and would do anything possible to show her love. Irene was a mother, a wife, a friend, a sister that held all of us together tightly with her love, wisdom, and acceptance. Irene is survived by her husband, Paul, her daughters Cynthia and partner Diana, Christine (Tina) and her partner Niccol: her son Paul and his partner Tony; her sisters Virginia and her two children Mire and Nichole; her sister Ernestine and her son and wife Mario and Noemi; her brother David and his wife Sharon; her sister Gloria and her husband Tom and her son Christopher.
Mom you will be missed by each of us terribly. You were a child of God, that touched each of us. You were a wonderful wife that never gave up. You were a mom that would listen to us and help us through all of our trials and tribulations. You will always be in each of our hearts forever. You are now with God and the saints and will be our angel. Please watch down on us and continue to lead us. Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 19, 6pm to 8pm, rosary at
7pm at Chapel of the Chimes 7924 North 59th Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on February 20 at 10am 5614 West Orangewood Avenue Glendale, AZ 85301. Burial immediately following at Resthaven Cemetery 6450 West Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301.
