Irene Nasalski Parady Obituary
Parady, Irene
Irene Nasalski Newton Parady grew up in Chicago during the depression, the daughter of a barber father and a mother who sold bootleg liquor during prohibition to keep food on the table. She was going to college in Poland when the Nazis invaded the country and, with help from the state department, was able to escape. Upon return home Irene joined the Women's Army Auxiliary Corp (the Women's branch of the Army) as a radio repair technician during World War II. There she met her first husband George and they married in 1945. Her life was taking care of her three kids while moving to different countries and states as an army wife, finally settling in Tempe when George retired in 1969. One of her greatest pleasures later in life was being active in her church. Irene had a long and amazing life. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23rd, age 98. Irene was preceded in death by her daughter, Melody Newton; husbands George Newton and Tom Parady; and brother Ronald Nasalski. She is survived by her sons George Newton (Deborah) of Campbell, CA and Craig Newton (Valerie) of Hampstead, MD, and a host of extended family. Visitation will be held 9:15am and funeral at 10:00am on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 E Libra Dr, Tempe 85282. Arrangements entrusted to Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary.
