Fleenor, J. Christopher "Chris"
Chris Fleenor, 50, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at his home in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Born October 2, 1965 in Phoenix, Arizona; he was the son of JoAnn Fleenor and the late J. Fred Fleenor of Paradise Valley, Arizona. Following graduation from Chaparral High School (Paradise Valley, Arizona), Chris graduated from Arizona State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Economics. He was a brother of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Chris spent 24 years working in the financial services and technology industries with leading companies such as: Intuit, American Express, Bank of America, Symantec, and Fiserv. He achieved several awards, certifications and honors, such as Six Sigma Master Black Belt, throughout his career. His efforts enabled those companies to achieve greater performance and customer experience. His hard work and insights were greatly appreciated as well as his camaraderie and friendship. An avid skier, Chris and Sharyn spent many wonderful vacations together on some of the best slopes in the country. He loved music and was a great bass guitarist. He enjoyed playing with friends and colleagues, often joining bandmates entertaining in local clubs. Chris also had a love of football especially his team, the Carolina Panthers. He enjoyed weightlifting and strength training. He had a passion for science fiction and the space program. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Chris had a kind and compassionate heart for animals. He was a great father to his dog Bella and cat Aslan. He is survived by his wife, Sharyn Fleenor; mother, JoAnn Fleenor of Paradise Valley Arizona; sister, Fredricka Fleenor Joyner; and several nephews and a niece. A service to celebrate Chris' life will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, November 14th at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road in Charlotte, NC 28210 followed immediately by a time for visitation from 2:00pm-4:00pm. Private interment will be in Charleston, South Carolina.
