Miller, James D.
83, of Wooster, Oh., died, Saturday, December 26, 2015 at West View Healthy Living in Wooster. He was born on September 18, 1932 in Phoenix, AZ. to Walter Keith and Angie (Howard) Miller. While in Phoenix, he taught 4th grade at the Creighton School District for over 30 years before retiring in 1988. He moved from Phoenix to Wayne County, Ohio in 1989 and married Doris E. Beegle on December 27, 1959 in West Salem, Ohio. She died in December 27, 1999. He was a member of Mohican Church of The Brethren in West Salem; belonged to the Ruritan Club for many years; past member of the YMCA and Boy Scouts of America. He is survived by his children, Darrel (Beth) Miller of Phoenix, AZ., Laura (Ben) Stanton of Flagstaff, AZ. and Delbert (Beverly) Miller of Wooster; 10 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Faye Miller and Leah Creed both of Phoenix, AZ. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Miller and 3 sisters, Wanda Caudle, Fern Jenkins and Nadine Kimbrough. A memorial service will be held today, 4:00 p.m. at Mohican Church Of The Brethren in West Salem with Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating. A visitation will be from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is honored with serving the family.
