90, died peacefully in his sleep on December 6, 2015, after suffering a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was a character who enjoyed life. Born January 16, 1925 in Pensacola, Florida, he endured Polio as a teenager. In 1955, he married his wife and best friend, Kay, and moved to California. He worked for the State of California and the County of Ventura, before moving to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, returning to Ventura upon retirement. He enjoyed coaching basketball, travel, cooking, friendships and Dodger baseball. He was very proud of his grandchildren, never missing an event. Most of all, he loved Kay, his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 60 years, Kay Westling, 95; his daughter Kathi Westling Liddle; his son Jim Westling (Jacque); his four (4) grandchildren whom he loved so much, Kristen Liddle Green (Cody); Steven Liddle (Erin); Jimmy Westling and Jeffrey Westling. Celebration service were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ventura, CA on December 19, 2015. In lieu of flowers ("those flowers make me sneeze"), donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Parkinson's Association or .
