James "Stuart" McIntyre Obituary
McIntyre, James "Stuart"
passed away on November 11, 2015, at the age of 72. Stuart was predeceased by his mother, Kathryn; father, Earl; and his wife Pamela High-McIntyre. He is survived by his beloved sister Lynne, nieces Wendy, Carol, Margaret, their children and spouses. Stuart served in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1966. This proud veteran went to school on the GI bill and became a tax accountant practicing in California and Arizona. While in the Navy, Stuart discovered his acting talent and love of theater. After moving to Arizona, Stuart acted in many local theater productions. While acting in community theater, he met Pamela High whom he later married. Both he and his wife Pam continued acting in local theaters. Stuart was also well-known in his role as Santa at Moon Valley High School. For many years Stuart would don an elaborate Santa suit and wife Pam, Moon Valley Speech and English teacher, would play Mrs. Santa delighting the children of Moon Valley teachers. Stuart will be remembered for his deep radio voice, his commanding stage presence, sense of humor, generosity and friendship. During his last year while battling cancer, Stuart entertained the residents of Intergrity Adult Care Home, traveled to England, and spent time at the casino. He was truly a character on and off stage and true to his favorite Sinatra song, Stuart would remind his loved ones "I Did It My Way!" In March his good friend and ex wife Kathy and other theater, Navy and business friends and family from the Bay area celebrated Stuart's life. Stuart will be interred here in Arizona on Monday, May 16th at 10:30am at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Donations can be made in Stuart's name to or to Theater Works.
