Smith, Jean S.
Of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on January 7, 2016. Born May 13, 1932, graduated from Corona Senior High School in Corona, CA, in 1950; then from Beauty School in 1951. She started work for REDKIN, the beauty products company, at age 19, working 40 years as a color specialists and platform artist. Jean performed all over the US at hair shows, demonstrating the latest colors and styles of the beauty industry. Jean moved with REDKIN to Florida, Puerto Rico, and London, England, delivering color classes to salons and distributors. She returned to Corona, CA, opening her own hair salon, with her identical twin sister, Barbara Crane, who was her BEST friend. She continued delivering classes for REDKIN. Jean spent the last year of her career with Paul Mitchel in CA (the beauty products company), as a color specialist, formulating colors for the Paul Mitchel color line. Jean touched many lives and developed many long-lasting friends in her life and career. Jean then retired to Scottsdale, AZ, in 1995, living with her sister Barbara, who was a cut and curl platform artists for REDKIN. Jean continued her cosmetology license during retirement helping friends with color and styles. Jean is preceded in death by her sister, Barbara. She is survived by her cousins, Linda Ferrell of Parker, AZ, Beverly Skiles of Orange County, CA, and many close friends. Interment will be at Corona Sunnyslope Cemetery in her home town of Corona, CA.
