"All the Wealth in the World Can Not Buy a Friend" Born 1-3-1926 in Minneapolis MN, Died 1-23-2016 In Phoenix, AZ. Loving Wife, Mother, Friend. Ventured to Phoenix AZ in 1944 with her sister Evelyn where she enjoyed all the growing that Arizona had to offer. "Back in the day" she enjoyed volunteering with the USO and the YMCA, hitchhiking to Prescott with friends to hang and sing on Whiskey Row, dancing at St Mary's, and in Apache Junction at Ned Cross, Happy Hour at Durant's and exploring with the Don's Club. She is a retired federal employee with 25+ years of service at FHA/HUD. She married the love of her life, Tom, who predeceased her in 2009. They embarked on adventures in traveling the world courtesy of the US Air Force where they gathered many lifelong friendships. Eventually, they returned to Phoenix to continue with raising the children and living near her sister. She volunteered with the St Vincent de Paul Society - St Louis the King Catholic Church until 2012. Jeanette enjoyed bowling, and golf until health restricted those activities - Her passion for Casino Craps, Bingo, Poker and a good game of Dominoes brings many fun memories "YO….HO!!" Jeanette shared her Strength and Faith in the Lord openly with all who knew her. She kept us all (Family, Friends and Neighbors) in her daily prayers. Her genuine interest, caring and concern gave us Hope. Jeanette is survived by her children Jack, Julie (Tyler), Joe (Tracy), Ray (Terri), God Daughters Ruth and Bev; her (11+) Grandchildren: Tommy (Summer), Becky (Paul), Jessie, Annie, Chuck, Maralynda (Kenny), Ivana, Gloria, Michael, David, and Megan. Great Grands: (9+) Cristian, Isabella, Drakon, Jonathan and Jacob, Ethan, Falyne, Chelle, Sophia. Jeanette was saddened by the loss of her oldest son John in 2015. Jeanette lived the last 3 years at The Stratford, Assisted Living Community where she continued to play bingo, attend Mass and build strong friendships with her neighbors and care givers. We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all the members of such a great community. A Funeral Mass and Celebration of Jeanette's life will be on Friday February 12th at 10 AM at St Simon and Jude Cathedral with Reception to follow. Jeanette will be interred with her Husband Captain Thomas J Cosper at the National Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix.
