Jeanne Shaheen, born on May 9, 1934 in Manassa, Colorado passed away on February 20, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona where she lived and raised her family for over 60 years. She was a wonderful and loving wife (for 64 years) and a dedicated and loving mother. Jeanne had an infectious laugh, whose positive personality and beautiful spirit touched all those she came in contact with every day. She was an outgoing person with a true zest for life, love and family. Jeanne was a talented painter who loved gardening, cooking, crafting and was dedicated to her church. She just adored her companion rescue pup, "Rufus". She will be missed very very much, by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph "Michael" Shaheen, her parents Daniel and Lucy Mestas, her siblings Helen P. Gonzales, Frank E. Mestas, Henry E. Mestas and Joseph S. Mestas. On this side of Eternity... Jeanne is survived by her husband, Fred Shaheen, Jr., her two sons, Fred Shaheen, III and Phillip Shaheen of Phoenix, AZ, along with her grandchildren, Tanya and Chad and three great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Daniel O. Mestas (Mary Jane Mestas), sister Betty Moran (Fred Moran) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and several nieces, nephews, many life time friends and godchild, Marlo. Services in honor of Jeanne will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016, 10:30 A.M., at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 4530 East Gold Dust Avenue, Phoenix, AZ, 85028, visitation will be from 9:45 to 10:30 A.M.
