Jerry D. Advant Obituary
Advant, Jerry D.
74, of Peoria, Arizona passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on October 29, 2016. Born September 25, 1942, in Hasty, Colorado, Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Beth Voepel Avant, the love of his life, their son Collin Avant and Collin's fiance, Mekenzy Messenger, daughters Melonee Avant Marcum (Kirk) and Joei Avant, grandchildren Kylee Marcum, Kelcee Marcum, Isaiha Hernandez, Ryan Medina and Myranda Whatley, great grandson Marcos Whatley. He is survived by his sisters, Suzan Wollert and Shirley Thrall, sisters-in-law Barbara Voepel and Karen Voepel (Bill Broyles) and brother-in-law David Voepel (Tonya). Jerry served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was a construction superintendent employed by Nesbitt Contracting for the last 24 years. He was a hard-working man, absolutely loved his job and more so loved the people he worked with. Jerry and Beth built a wonderful life in Phoenix with their son, Collin, and enjoyed visits from his daughters and grandchildren. Jerry loved people and never met a stranger. He loved hanging out with his son, working in his shop and traveling. Jerry was deeply compassionate, generous and would give the shirt off his back to help others. Jerry had a kind word for everyone. His sense of humor was his signature. Just weeks before he passed he surprised Beth with a small plaque that read, "You will never know a day that I don't love you." Jerry's love for his family was deep and lasting. The family will be celebrating a private memorial and suggest donations be made to Share the Spirit Foundation at sharethespirit.info.
