Jesse Goodwin Obituary
Goodwin, Jesse
43, of Gilbert, AZ passed away on May 17, 2016. Our beloved friend and AWA brother Jesse Goodwin, an A-320 first officer, was killed suddenly this week. The WWII North American AT-6 warbird he was flying crashed at Falcon Field on Tuesday. Jesse was born on March 28th, 1973 in Costa Mesa, California to Ronda (Ed) Haprov and Tim Goodwin. His passion for flying began at a young age under the guidance of his father and many others. He officially earned his commercial wings in 2000, working first in Page, Arizona and later flying for Mesa Airlines and America West before being welcomed into the US-Airways/American Airlines family. Jesse was also a member of the Commemorative Air Force and Wings of Flight Foundation. Flying was never solely Jesse's occupation, but his passion and love - that is until he met the true love of his life - his wife Katie. Jesse truly loved two things in life: Katie and planes, in that order. Together, Jesse and Katie made the perfect team; following their dreams, living life to the fullest and pursuing every adventure. He is survived by Katie and their four-legged children, Pratt and Whitney. Known for his quick whit and charm, Jesse won the heart of everyone he met. He was an adored husband and family member - and that family included many dear friends. His wry sense of humor, genuine nature and passion for life will be sorely missed. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at: Falcon Field Commemorative Air Force 2017 N Greenfield Rd, Mesa, AZ 85215 Phone:(480) 924-1940 Tuesday May 24, 2016, at 9am with a reception to follow at Churchill's Hanger, 4654 East Fighter Aces Drive, Mesa, AZ. Items or flowers can be sent to: Commemorative Air Force 2017 N Greenfield Rd Mesa AZ 85215. A Go Fund Me account has also been established for memorial contributions under: Katie Goodwin Bereavement Fund.
