73, of Sun City passed away on August 27, 2016. John was born on October 5, 1942 in Omaha, NE to Harold Edward Lloyd and Ruth Amelia (Campbell) Lloyd. He remained in Omaha through most of his early life and was joined by a sister Nancy (Lloyd) Brown. He attended North High School, playing center on the basketball team and graduated in 1960. He married and had one daughter, Donna Christine (Lloyd) Kerwin of Denver, CO. John worked for a short time for Union Pacific Railroad in accounting and joined the Coast Guard Reserves in 1963 as an engineman. In 1969, he took over his father's radio and television sales and service business in Omaha, continuing there until 1986. August 9, 1980 he married his second wife, Esther Marie Hales in Council Bluffs, IA and thereafter moved to homes in Columbus, NE and Oklahoma City, OK. He continued working as an lectronics technician throughout the rest of his career. He received an Associate Degree in Applied Science in 1992 and finally retired after working as a contractor for the Federal Aviation Administration in Oklahoma City in 2008. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Sun City, AZ where he became active on the board of their home owners association, volunteering many hours for the association and his neighbors. He also volunteered as a sound technician during services at his church, Willowbrook United Methodist. John was a person that was always available to help solve or repair any problem. For fun, John loved to golf and pilot small planes. John is survived by his daughter, sister and wife. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at Willowbrook United Methodist Church in Sun City on September 24. His ashes will be placed in the church's columbarium.
