Werstler, John Edward
passed away May 28, 2016. He is survived by the love of his life Gerry, to whom he was married to for over 62 years. John was the loving father of eight children, Wendy, Kim, John, Chris, Kelly, Jeffery, Heidi, Tony and was the grandfather of 18 and great grandfather of 7. John was born in Rochester NY on April 17, 1932. He moved to Tucson AZ.with his family in 1947 where he attended Tucson High School and the University of Arizona. While attending Tucson High and the U of A John played basketball. He owned and operated a very successful furniture business during the 60's 70's and 80's known as Kykendahl's Furniture and Werstler's Furniture. In addition to being very active in the business community in Tucson John was also a very passionate coach and mentor to many young athletes. In the early 80's John moved to Scottsdale where he lived for the balance of his life. John or as his grandchildren referred to him as "Pappa" will be sorely missed. John loved animals and particularly dogs.
