Joni Gail Rooney Obituary
Rooney, Joni Gail
Joni Gail Rooney, 56, was called home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2015. She was born on April 2, 1959 in Downey, California and attended Newport Harbor High School in Newport Beach, CA. Joni married Lawrence Rooney in 1981, in Costa Mesa, California and had three children Molly, Daniel and Megan. Some of her passions were: Her Family, Being an Advocate for Autism Awareness, Poetry, Writing, The beach, Angels, Anything Disney, Quilting, Crafting and Wynonna Judd and Jennifer Nettles's Music. Joni was a great mother who poured her full heart and soul into her children. She was a fantastic friend to all that knew her and would always take care of everyone else first. It would be very difficult to find someone with a bigger heart! Joni will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. She was once quoted saying during a difficult time, "that the word strength had a whole different meaning to her, and that meaning is Family." Joni is survived by: her loving husband of 34 years, Larry; 2 daughters Molly Gail Coffield (Benjamin), and Megan Leigh Rooney; son Daniel Patrick Rooney (Alicia); granddaughter Isabel Marie Rooney; grandson Jaxon Benjamin Coffield; brother Guy Charles Hutchison; 2 sisters Gina Leigh Seman and Lisa Gay Ritter; and her mother Doris Snider. A Celebration of Joni's life will take place on Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Rio Vista Recreation Center, 8866 W. Thunderbird Rd. Peoria from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
