Jorcelene Lang Obituary

Lang, Jorcelene Betty
Jorcelene Betty Lang, age 82, was called to Heaven on November 18, 2016, most likely to be put in charge of the baking committee with her extraordinary desserts. She was born Feb 20, 1934 in Artas, SD, to Fred and Bertha Brockel. The family moved to Plevna, MT when she was 11, and later to a farm near Baker, MT. The family's social life centered around church activities, which is where she met her only sweetheart and the love of her life, Manuel Lang. They were married Oct 28, 1951 and for the next 65 years they lived out their marriage vows with love and devotion. They moved to Billings in 1953 and later welcomed three children - Monty, Lori, and Melanie, and taught their children the importance of love, faith, and family. In 1986 Jorcelene and Manuel moved to Phoenix, AZ, which has been their home ever since. Jorcelene's most important life's work was devotion to family and home. Her quiet but magnificent talents have left a legacy that will be passed on through generations. Her artistic passions were baking, cooking, and all kinds of handiwork, including cross stitch and crocheting, and she crafted special treasures for the people she loved. Gardening and Christmas were other ways she expressed her joy. She was selfless, nurturing, and encouraging. She taught by example to love unconditionally and accept others just as they are. Hospitality and love made every person feel welcome, and more importantly, she always put others first. She was an incredible example of God's love here on earth. Unquestionably, she departed satisfied and proud. She truly deserves a lifetime achievement award, but would be too humble to want the fuss. Survivors include her husband, Manuel; children Monty Lang (Marvella), Lori Hansen, and Melanie Brown (Tom); grandchildren Michelle Zimmerman (Chris), Matthew Lang, Rachel Copeland (Max), Alex Hansen, Lindsey Brown, Holly Brown; and great-grandchildren Jonah, Madelyn and Miles Zimmerman; brothers Duane Brockel, Leo (Colleen) Brockel, and Gary (Patti) Brockel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents and two sisters, Arla Opp and Janice Brockel preceded her in death. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 25, at West Resthaven Funeral Home in Glendale, AZ, with viewing from 1:30-2:00 pm at 6450 W Northern Avenue in Glendale.
