Joshua Allen Merrill Obituary
Merrill, Joshua Allen
Joshua Allen Merrill, 31, of Peoria, AZ died in a small plane crash on May 7, 2016. He was born in Hilo, Hawaii on November 4, 1984. Josh was a pilot and aircraft mechanic. Joshua is survived by his fiance, Mercedes Dellinger, parents, Al and Robbyn Merrill, brothers, Zachary and Lucas Merrill, sister-in-law, Melissa Merrill, nephew, Taylor Merrill, niece, Paige Merrill, grandparents William and Carol Merrill, and grandmothers Lorna Lockwood and Shirley Raleigh. Preceding him in death is his grandfather, Ben Raleigh. Joshua loved life and packed a lot of exciting exploits into his short 31 years. From climbing glaciers in Alaska, to scuba diving in the Caribbean, Josh knew how to have fun. His life was loud, fast-paced and those around him could not help but be drawn to his dynamic personality. If Josh entered a room the energy level and laughter would increase tenfold. Joshua's quest for adventure was exemplified by his love for airplanes. Coming from a family of aviators, a career in general aviation was a natural fit for Josh. He relished being in and around airplanes and had the skill to fly them or fix them. Joshua's attention to detail made him an asset to the aviation community. His mischievous grin and fervent love of living in the moment will leave a whole in the heart of those who knew and loved him. Josh's motto was: "Live in excess, not just for survival." A memorial service will be held in honor of Joshua at Maranatha Baptist Church, 9120 N. 95th Avenue, Peoria, AZ 85345 on Saturday May 14th at 1:00pm.
