66, of Desert Hills, AZ. Passed away August 11, 2015 3:04 AM of Parkinson's Disease and Dementia. She was born Aug. 22, 1948 in Muskegon, Michigan. Her parents, Geraldine Sullivan and Matthias D. LeFevre both predeceased her. Kathleen was raised in Michigan and Texas. She earned her B.A. in History at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas in 1970 and her Master's Degree in Library Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin in 1972. She first worked as a librarian at McAllen Memorial library in McAllen, Texas for three years before moving to Phoenix, AZ. She loved reading, fishing, and children and was a children's librarian whenever possible. Later in her career she was the manager of various branch libraries at different times including Acacia and Desert Broom. In 2003 she was one of 27 librarians from around the country to receive the New York Times award for outstanding service. She is survived by her husband Bruce and her son Devin. Services will be private and remains will be kept at Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, 23015 Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers a donation to a mental health researcher of your choice is encouraged.
