Elletson, Kay A.
79, garage sale treasure hunter, organizing queen, grandbaby hugger, Coca-Cola Cake baker and gardening goddess died in her home on June 2, 2016, surrounded by her husband and all 5 children. Kay was born in Kingsley, MI on Jan. 17, 1937 to Hazel and Arden Deibert. She is a graduate of Michigan State University and married Harry H. Elletson in 1960. Kay's greatest passion in life was loving her husband, children and extended family. She made the world a more beautiful place with her ever-present smile, unyielding creativity, gracious hospitality, scrumptious cooking and sweet friendships. Kay cherished her Michigan roots and returned to design/build her log home on Spider Lake in 1998 after raising her family in MN, KS and AZ. Kay's spirit will carry on in her husband of 56 years-Harry, her children-Lisa, Lonn, Lanae, Lane and Penn, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Light of the Desert Church at 6pm on June 8th and a celebration of her life is planned for Oct. 2nd in MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Agua Prieta Homebuilding Mission c/o Light of the Desert Lutheran Church, 33175 N. Cave Creek Rd, Cave Creek, AZ 85331.
