MacLellan, Kenneth F. Jr.
94, passed away peacefully at the Eckstein Center in Scottsdale on January 5, 2016. He was surrounded by his family and his devoted wife, of more than 69 years, Dottie F. MacLellan. Mr. MacLellan was born to Kenneth F. MacLellan, Sr. and Alta MacLellan, on February 25, 1921 in Chicago Illinois. While Ken had been known to most as an iconic local commercial real estate developer for more than 30 years, he was also an active member of the Rotary Club International at clubs located in: Evanston Illinois, St. Paul Minnesota and Paradise Valley Arizona and he was also a member of Paradise Valley Country Club since 1977. From his Midwest beginnings he received both a BA and MBA degrees from the University of Chicago. He was a member of the 10th Mountain Division during World War II and saw action in Italy. After his military service he became a senior executive at Sawyer & Keebler Biscuit companies and also managed and owned several other candy, food and household goods manufacturing businesses. Ken and Dottie raised their daughter Susie and son Douglas in Evanston Illinois, North Oaks Minnesota and Lake Forest Illinois. In 1974, Ken and Dottie moved to Scottsdale. Mr. MacLellan's legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of Dottie, Susie, Douglas, daughter-in-law Nora, son-in-law Butch, sister-in-law Bev and the Hall, Brannigan & Kurz families and everyone he came into contact with. His wit, wisdom, expressive smile, his blatant honesty, compassion and integrity that he showed to everyone who met him will never be forgotten. Dottie remembers Ken as a patient and loving husband! Memorial Services will be private. The family respectfully request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his honor to the , 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix Arizona 85014. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
