The Lord called Kitty home on October 19, 2015 at the age of 68. She passed away peacefully at her Tempe, Arizona home with her husband and children present. She was born in 1947 in Logan, Ohio and moved to Columbus, Ohio with her family as a young girl. She attended Ohio State University where she met the love of her life, Steve. Kitty and Steve were married in 1966 and celebrated 49 years of marriage. During this time frame, she became a devoted mother of two sons and a daughter. Later, she continued her education at Columbus Technical Institute, kicking off her health care career as a respiratory therapist at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Kitty and Steve relocated the family to Arizona in 1987 where she further advanced her career with a nursing degree and worked for Chandler Regional Hospital and Banner Health. After spending most of her career in healthcare, she took a different path and got her real estate license, working as a coordinator before retirement. Kitty was preceded in death by her mother and father, Irene and Harry Blimes. She is survived by her husband Steven Rhoten, her brother Michael Blimes, two sons Carey Rhoten and Jonathon Rhoten, and daughter Kelly Funk. She has 5 grandchildren (Steven, Gabrielle, Alex, Kaleb, and Logan) and 2 step grandchildren (Cameron and Jacob). Visitation will be Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 10:00 to 12:00 noon with a Prayer Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. noon at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Mortuary, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ 85204. A celebration of life to follow at Steve's home in Tempe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the or .
