Larry Richardson, age 79, passed away at home in Glendale, Arizona on May 12, 2016. He was born on September 16, 1936 in Tyler, Texas to F.M. and Annie (Conway) Richardson. Larry was 1 year old when his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Madison No.1 Elementary School and North Phoenix High School. Larry was a member of the Nobleman Fraternity where he made some lifelong friends. He met the love of his life, Hallye (Adams AKA Woolf) and married her on October 3, 1953 in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a young man, he had the reputation of being the best tractor driver in town. While working for John F. Long Homes, he was inspired to one day build his own home. He later went on to build two beautiful homes for his family. At the age of 20 years old, he started his own business, Copperstate Paving Co. Lori was born in 1955 and Lawrence in 1960. Hallye's younger sister, Bobbie, came to live with the family in 1960. Larry coached boys' baseball and participated with his son in the YMCA Indian Guides, as well as Cub Scouts. Larry was creative and artistic. He designed beautiful floral arrangements and learned the art of turquoise and silver making jewelry. Larry loved a variety of music and enjoyed singing karaoke songs with family and friends. He had a positive outlook and a great sense of humor. Larry was always someone you could count on to help his family, friends, and neighbors. He had a strong faith in God and lived his life with integrity and humility. Larry is survived by his children Lori (Scott) Smith and Lawrence (Lisa) Richardson, his grandchildren Jeremy (Abigail) Smith and Sean (Christabelle) Smith, his great-grandson, Jeremy and Abigail's son, Jake Smith, as well as his siblings, Morris (Virginia) Richardson, Joyce (Steve) Stevens, Barry (Carol) Richardson, Michael (Minette) Richardson, and sister-in-law, Bobbie (Gary) Woolf Bishop. Larry was predeceased by his wife, Hallye, who passed away on July 18, 2012. A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird, Peoria, Arizona. His final resting place will be located at Sunwest Cemetery.
