93 of Tempe, An early Pioneer and Food Industry Leader passed away on October 15, 2016. quiet at home after dinner. Just a few months short of her 95th birthday. Only 48 hours earlier, all of her nieces and nephews had come to phoenix to celebrate that upcoming 95th - with cake, candles and champagne. Laurie and her beloved husband Joseph, came to Arizona from Chicago after world war II, to explore the land and its open horizons and beautiful mountains. They settled in Tempe and built their dream home in Payson. Active in all of Tempe and phoenix woman's organizations, as well as the Elks Lodges, Laurie was also a nationally known food expert-including as head of Rosarito Food Kitchens and inventor id the Packaged Angel Food Cake. he is survived by her nieces, nephews in Florida, California and Colorado; and by her beloved friends, Eva and Julio Rosales, their children and grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at St Agnes Church 1954 N 24th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008. 9:30 Viewing and a 10:30 Funeral Mass. Services entrusted to Universal South Mountain Mortuary 7007 S. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ
